Fitting & Care
Fitting Your Roadster Concept Wind Deflector
Your wind deflector clips directly into the existing mounting points behind the seats — no tools, no drilling, no modifications. Most customers fit it in under five minutes. Watch the quick guide below.
IMPORTANT — BRACKET ORIENTATION: Fit the deflector with the patterned hex section of the brackets facing the REAR of the car. If the hex section faces forward, the deflector will lean forward and will not sit evenly between the seats. With the hex facing rearward, the pegs align correctly and the deflector sits flush and upright.
Step by Step
- Give the mounting area behind the seats a quick clean with a microfibre cloth
- Check the bracket orientation — the patterned hex section must face the REAR of the car
- Hold the deflector horizontally and align the brackets with the mounting points on each roll hoop
- Apply gentle downward pressure until each bracket clips into place with a positive click
- Check the deflector sits level and flush, and is held firmly with no movement
To remove, simply grip the deflector firmly and apply upward pressure to release the brackets. Always remove the deflector before folding the soft top completely flat.
Caring for Your Wind Deflector
Your Roadster Concept wind deflector is built to last. With the right care it will maintain its optical clarity and premium finish for years of open-top driving.
Cleaning
- Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and warm, slightly soapy water
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue
- Dry with a clean, dry microfibre cloth — do not allow to air dry as this can leave water marks
- For stubborn marks or insect residue, soak briefly with warm soapy water before wiping — do not scrub dry
What to Avoid
- Abrasive cloths, sponges or scourers — these will cause fine scratches
- Ammonia-based glass cleaners — these cause crazing and cloudiness over time
- Solvent-based cleaners — these will damage the surface
- Paper towels or tissues — more abrasive than they appear and will scratch over time
- Dry wiping — always use water or a specialist plastic cleaner
Polishing
If fine surface scratches appear over time, they can be removed easily with a specialist plastic polish.
- Use a plastic polish such as Meguiars PlastX or Autoglym Fast Glass
- Apply a small amount to a clean, soft microfibre cloth
- Work in gentle circular motions across the affected area
- Buff to a clear finish with a clean cloth
Storage
- Store flat or upright — do not store at an angle where it could flex or bow over time
- Keep in a soft bag or wrap in a microfibre cloth to protect the surface
- Store away from direct sunlight and extreme heat
- Do not stack heavy items on top of it
